Weeds With White Flowers In Spring

Common chickweed (stellaria media) is a member of the pink family that grows prostrate (along the soil surface). A low growing plant with waxy spade shaped leaves growing from a tuber which produces bright buttercup shaped flowers.

The flowers appear in the leaf axis and the seed develops into a distinctive heart shape.
